Borrowing

• library card is free of charge for registered students and staff
• library card for external customers 2 EUR
• reservation (notice of arrival) 1 EUR
• replacement of a lost library card 5 EUR

Fines on overdue loans:
• 0,15 EUR / day for book, periodical, video, cd-rom and slide set
• 0,05 EUR / day for individual slide

Information service

Students and staff
• Information retrieval service is free of charge for staff, post-graduates and students doing diploma work

Charges for other customers
• ARSCA database 17 EUR
• Finnish databases 25 EUR
• international databases from 33 EUR
• user training for outside groups 50 EUR

Copying and printing

• Colour and black-and-white printers and photocopiers should be used with copy cards of the Helsinki University Printing House.
• Copy cards can be bought from the university’s papershop Kynä ja Paperi, Hämeentie 135 D (ground floor), tel. (09) 756 30248, or from the Pop & Jazz Conservatory’s porter, Arabiankatu 2, tel. (09) 777 12110.

Interlibrary loans

• For Aalto University staff all interlibrary loans are free of charge.
• Extra charge for urgent action service is 10 € for domestic deliveries and 15 € for external ones.
• Students pay the possible fees when checking out the material from the Main Library.
• Students have to go and borrow the materials of the metropolitan area libraries themselves.
• For materials not mentioned the price is defined by the expenses caused to the library.
